Taipei, President Tsai Ing-wen (???) has expressed concern and sympathy to Haiti after a magnitude 5.9 earthquake rocked the country late Saturday, leaving at least 14 people dead, and has offered to provide assistance, the Presidential Office said Monday.
Tsai expressed concern for the people affected by the earthquake and has sought information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs about any Taiwanese casualties in the temblor, according to the Presidential Office in a statement issued Monday.
The president also extended condolences to the government and people of Haiti and expressed Taiwan's willingness to provide help, according the statement.
