Taipei, President Tsai Ing-wen (???) has expressed her deepest sympathy and concern to Indonesia after a strong earthquake rocked the country's Sulawesi Island Friday, the Presidential Office said Saturday.
She also asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) to find out whether any Taiwanese have been affected by the quake, Presidential Office spokesman Alex Huang (???) said.
Huang said the government is ready to offer assistance to Indonesia in search and rescue efforts.
According to the Indonesian authorities, the death toll had so far reached 384 people, many of whom were killed on the beach as a result of a tsunami following the earthquake.
