Presidential Office Updates Lists of Senior, Policy Advisers

Taipei: The Presidential Office has announced an update to its lists of senior advisers and national policy advisers to President Lai Ching-te, incorporating six new senior advisers and twelve new national policy advisers.

According to Focus Taiwan, the updated list of senior advisers includes Tom Su, chairman of the New York Taiwan Center and father of AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su. Lin Hong-dow, who recently stepped down as chairman of the Taiwan Sports Training Center, has also been appointed. Other appointees are former ambassador-at-large Wu Yung-tung and Wu Shu-min, chairman of the Foundation of Medical Professionals Alliance in Taiwan. Additionally, writer Huang Yue-sui and Fan Chen-hsiu, who were previously national policy advisers, have been promoted to senior advisers.

The twelve new national policy advisers feature notable figures such as forensic expert Kao Ta-cheng, Lih Pao Group Chairman Wu Pao-tien, Republic of China Sports Federation President Yeh Cheng-yen, and World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce President Kenneth Wu.

The Presidential Office website states that the updated lists now comprise 29 senior advisers and 71 national policy advisers. As per the Organization Act of the Office of the President, the maximum allowable appointments include up to 30 senior advisers and 90 national policy advisers. These positions are unpaid, and their terms align with that of the president.

The terms of the previous advisers concluded on May 19.
