President Tsai Ing-wen's (???) elderly mother Chang Chin-feng (???) was still in Taipei Veterans General Hospital Monday after being admitted the previous day with cold symptoms, Presidential Office spokesman Alex Huang (???) said Monday.
"Thanks for your concern," he said in response to media queries.
According to media reports, Tsai paid a low-profile visit to her 90-year-old mother in the hospital Sunday night.
The hospital confirmed that Chang was taken to the emergency room Sunday afternoon and was later admitted to the hospital.
