There will be scattered rain during the day in Yilan, while thick clouds will blanket other areas in northern Taiwan, bringing sporadic rainfall, according to the CWB.
Rain is also expected in Hualien and the Hengchun Peninsula at the southernmost part of the country, but central and southern Taiwan will mostly be dry, with cloudy to clear skies, according to the CWB.
During the day, northern Taiwan will see highs of around 19-22 degrees, while central and southern parts of the country will have temperatures ranging between 24 and 28 degrees, according to the CWB.
It advises people to be weary of considerable differences between day and night temperatures as the mercury may plummet to as low as 16-19 degrees in the evening.
Meanwhile, low clouds and fog in the western half of the country and the outlying islands of Matsu may affect visibility for motorists, the CWB said.
Strong gusts are expected in open coastal areas from Tainan to Miaoli, as well as in Penghu and Matsu, the CWB said.
