Taipei, NBA veteran point guard Jeremy Lin a California native of Taiwanese descent, became the first Asian American to earn an NBA ring Thursday when his team, the Toronto Raptors, took their first NBA title.
Lin, who started his career with the Golden State Warriors in 2010, played for just one minute in the NBA Finals Thursday but still got his championship ring after the Canadian team defeated the Golden State Warriors 114110 in Game 6.
"Championsssss!" is how he captioned a photo he posted on Instagram.
Lin rose to fame in 2012 when he helped lead the New York Knicks to wins in each of his first seven games, and "Linsanity" was born.
Since then, he has played for several teams, including the Los Angeles Lakers, the Charlotte Hornets, the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks.
The Raptors signed the veteran point guard in February this year.
Lin has averaged 11.6 points and 4.3 assists per game in his 480game career.
