South Korea and China have agreed to continue communications to ensure stable supply chains and spur bilateral trade and investment during their economic talks in Beijing, Seoul's foreign ministry said Tuesday.Kim Jin-dong, director-general for bilateral economic affairs at the ministry, met with his Chinese counterpart, Wang Liping, on Monday, according to the ministry.Since 1993, the two nations have held such annual talks to review progress over bilateral economic cooperation, attended by director-general level officials from Seoul's foreign ministry and China's commerce ministry.Both sides agreed Monday to continue their communication to stably manage the supply chains and invigorate bilateral trade and investment through various economic consultative channels, including a meeting of the Joint Economic Commission to be held within this year.They also discussed ways to boost regional economic cooperation and exchanges in cultural content and protect the intellectual property rights, the ministry s aid.China is South Korea's largest trade partner, with their two-day trade recorded at US$266 billion last year, according to Seoul's trade ministry.Source: Yonhap News Agency
