Taipei: The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has predicted sporadic showers across parts of Taiwan on Sunday and Monday. The areas expected to be affected include the north coast, eastern Taiwan, and the Hengchun Peninsula in the south.
According to Focus Taiwan, the CWA has indicated that warm weather will persist through Tuesday evening. During this period, daytime highs are expected to range between 24 to 28 degrees Celsius nationwide, with lows around 18-20 degrees Celsius.
Tropical Storm Koto is currently moving slowly near the seas west of the Philippines but is not anticipated to have a direct impact on Taiwan, as per the CWA's assessment.
CWA forecaster Cheng Chieh-jen has informed CNA that on Tuesday evening, seasonal northeasterly winds are expected to intensify, leading to a drop in temperatures. The lows are projected to range between 15-17 degrees in northern and central Taiwan, while in the south, temperatures might drop by 3-4 degrees to around 18-19 degrees. Daytime highs in the northern regions are expected to remain below 20 degrees.
From Tuesday to Thursday, the CWA forecasts sporadic showers in northern and eastern Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula, and mountainous regions in central and southern Taiwan. Other areas of the island are likely to experience cloudy to sunny weather.
Temperatures are expected to rebound during the daytime on Friday and Saturday, although mornings and nights will remain cool. The showers will gradually recede to the north coast, mountainous regions in the Greater Taipei Area, eastern Taiwan, and the Hengchun Peninsula, leaving other parts of the island with cloudy to sunny skies, the CWA reported.
