Mostly sunny weather is forecast for most parts of Taiwan during the Sept. 18-21 Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, and clear skies on Tuesday night will make it easy to spot the full moon, the Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said Friday.
Thanks to generally stable weather, there will be minimal cloud cover at nighttime during the four-day holiday period, according to the CWB.
Sunny to cloudy skies are forecast to prevail across Taiwan and in the offshore Lienchiang, Penghu and Kinmen counties on Saturday, with temperature highs of between 32-34 degrees Celsius, the bureau said.
Brief showers could still occur, however, in western and northeastern Taiwan and mountainous areas in the afternoon, it said.
As a Pacific high pressure system strengthens, sunny to cloudy weather can be expected from Sunday until Sept. 21, with temperature highs in some areas forecast to reach 36 degrees.
But brief afternoon thundershowers can still be expected in some areas during the three days, the CWB said.
