Taipei, The first Taipei International Children's Book Fair made its debut Friday at the Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, featuring nearly 100 publishing houses and more than 4 million children's books, according to the organizers.
The fair is aimed at providing an opportunity for children and parents to choose good books and encouraging children to enjoy reading, the organizers said.
Most of the books exhibited target kids aged 3 to 9, including the world-famous series "I Can Read" and the Chinese edition of "Magic Tree House," they said.
Several meet-and-greet events have been scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, where visitors can get up close to their favorite authors and illustrators.
The fair runs through Monday and is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
