Taipei: A second round of free health check-ups for migrant workers will be held at Taipei Main Station on June 14, as announced by the Taipei City Government's Department of Labor. The sessions are scheduled to take place from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the station's main hall, offering a range of general health screenings and consultations across several medical specialties.
According to Focus Taiwan, the health check-ups will include services in dentistry, ear, nose, and throat issues, internal medicine, gynecology, psychiatry, and traditional Chinese medicine. In addition to these medical services, attendees will have access to information about healthcare resources and living in Taiwan. To incentivize participation, the first 20 workers to complete the check-up will receive a voucher for a 15-minute massage by a blind massage therapist.
The Department of Labor has reminded migrant workers to bring their Alien Resident Certificate and National Health Insurance card to the event. This is the second of four planned free health check-up sessions for the year. The city is collaborating with the Tzu Chi International Medical Association for the second consecutive event.
The remaining two sessions are scheduled for August 16 and October 4. Employers and labor brokers have been urged to disseminate this information among migrant workers to encourage them to benefit from the free health services.
