Taipei: The Taipei City Government has initiated a special promotional campaign ahead of the highly anticipated three-night concert series by K-pop sensation TWICE at the Taipei Dome, which kicks off on March 20. Fans are encouraged to explore themed attractions and participate in a series of citywide check-in events designed to immerse visitors in the TWICE experience.According to Focus Taiwan, Taipei Mayor Chiang Wan-an announced the campaign, titled "ONCE CITY MAP," via a Facebook post on Sunday. The campaign name cleverly uses "ONCE," the official fandom name for TWICE fans, to encapsulate the spirit of the event. In collaboration with the concert organizer, the initiative features eight official fan events and themed attractions that aim to transform Taipei into "ONCE CITY."The limited-time events include a variety of attractions such as a pop-up store at Huashan 1914 Creative Park, a touring merchandise store at Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, photo opportunities at the Taipei Dome, and vibrant lighting displays at The Sky Taipei. The campaign extends into Taipei's public transit system, with themed Taipei Metro train cars, Maokong Gondola cabins adorned with TWICE imagery, and a unique audio experience at the MRT Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall Station, the closest stop to the Taipei Dome. The city's tourism department elaborated that the audio experience will feature prerecorded greetings from TWICE members and play the group's songs at designated times during the concert days, enhancing the atmosphere for concertgoers. A standout feature of the campaign is a dance challenge centered around TWICE hit songs. Fans are invited to record themselves dancing at nine different locations across Taipei, including the Rainbow Crossing in Ximending and the Dadaocheng Wharf. By sharing their dance videos on social media, participants stand a chance to win prizes such as round-trip tickets between Taipei and Seoul, hotel vouchers, and concert-themed merchandise. This upcoming series marks TWICE's debut concert in Taipei, following their inaugural performances in Taiwan last November in Kaohsiung. During those concerts, Taiwanese member Chou Tzu-yu expressed her joy in Mandarin, acknowledging the long-awaited moment for fans. The performances in Kaohsiung were a significant success, with Kaohsiung Mayor Chen Chi-mai reporting that the events generated over NT$500 million (US$15.55 million) in tourism revenue.
