Taipei: Taipei Zoo will close for 10 days from June 22 to July 1 for maintenance work and preparations for its summer peak season, the zoo said Friday. The closure will allow for major renovations to be carried out while minimizing disruption to resident animals, the zoo said in a news release.
According to Focus Taiwan, on Saturdays in July and August, the zoo will extend its opening hours until 9 p.m. instead of the usual 5 p.m. Special events are planned for these extended hours, as part of a program that began in 2006. To commemorate the program's 20th anniversary, the zoo is inviting past visitors to submit photos by June 15. These photos will be featured in a "memory lane" exhibition at the Children's Zoo, located by the Taipei Zoo's entrance.
