Brussels: Taiwan's Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung was warmly received by a group of European parliamentarians in Belgium as part of his ongoing diplomatic mission to Europe. The meeting, which took place at the European Parliament, was highlighted by a photograph shared by Rasa Jukneviciene, a member of the European Parliament and former Lithuanian defense chief.According to Focus Taiwan, the photograph featured Lin alongside Eric Huang, Taiwan's chief diplomat for European affairs, and several European Parliament members including Kathleen Van Brempt from Belgium, Engin Eroglu and Michael Gahler from Germany, Bernard Guetta from France, Urmas Paet from Estonia, Andrey Kovatchev from Bulgaria, and Rihards Kols from Latvia. Jukneviciene expressed her enthusiasm about the meeting in a social media post, emphasizing the positive dialogue on cooperation between Taiwan and Lithuania, and announcing Lin's upcoming visit to Lithuania.During his stay in Belgium, Lin also engaged with the Belgian Chamber of Repres entatives and was hosted by Els Van Hoof, chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee. This visit follows Lin's previous engagement at the Interuniversity Microelectronics Center (imec), where he discussed Taiwan's semiconductor industry with the center's president and CEO, Luc Van den hove.Lin's European tour aims to bolster business relationships, particularly in Lithuania, where he is leading a delegation of representatives from 20 Taiwanese drone companies. This initiative, scheduled from November 17 to 24, underscores Taiwan's commitment to fostering economic and technological partnerships in Europe.
