Taiwan Plus Cultural Festival to Debut in Osaka with Record-Breaking Lineup


Osaka: Taiwan Plus, an annual festival dedicated to promoting Taiwanese culture, is set to make its debut in Osaka this August, as announced by the General Association of Chinese Culture (GACC) on Wednesday. The festival is scheduled to take place on August 8, 9, 16, and 17, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture’s World Expo 2025 Osaka program, “We Taiwan.”



According to Focus Taiwan, the GACC has organized the festival to align with the Osaka Expo’s theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.” GACC Secretary General Lee Hou-ching revealed during a press conference that the event will feature an unprecedented lineup of over 100 Taiwanese brands. The festival will showcase a variety of crafts, food and beverages, workshops, local design, and sustainability initiatives.



Culture Minister Lee Yuan, who also spoke at the press event, expressed gratitude to the sponsoring businesses and central government agencies for their support in enhancing Taiwan’s international presence. The Taiwan Plus festival aims to provide a platform for Taiwanese culture and innovation, highlighting the island’s contributions to global cultural exchange and sustainable practices.
