Nagoya:Taiwan's men's baseball team clinched a bronze medal at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games by defeating China 5-1.

According to Focus Taiwan, Taiwan's victory marked their 10th consecutive win over China in Asian Games baseball. This bronze is Taiwan's fourth in the event's history, complementing their two gold and four silver medals.

Taiwan's starting pitcher Lin Yu-min, a right-hander from the Arizona Diamondbacks' farm system, delivered an outstanding performance by pitching eight scoreless innings. He struck out 10 Chinese batters, allowing just one hit and one walk.

Offensively, Taiwan took an early lead with Yang Po-hsiang's two-run triple in the second inning. Despite stranding five runners between the third and sixth innings, Taiwan extended their lead in the seventh with Chen Min-shih's two-run double and Kao Yu-wei's RBI double, making it 5-0.

China managed to score in the ninth inning when Luan Chenchen hit an RBI single off Taiwan's reliever Wang Cheng-hao, preventing a shutout. Taiwan concluded the game with 13 hits, while China had three.

In the history of Asian Games baseball, South Korea leads with six gold medals, followed by Taiwan with two and Japan with one.
