Nagoya:Team Taiwan achieved a remarkable performance at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games on Friday, amassing a total of eight medals by 830 p.m. The haul included one gold, four silver, and three bronze medals.
According to Focus Taiwan, the latest gold medal was secured by boxer Lin Yu-ting, who triumphed in the women's 60-kilogram final earlier in the day, contributing to Taiwan's overall tally of 50 medals in the games, including four gold.
The silver medals were won by Chen Nien-chin in the women's 65-kilogram boxing division, Hung Jiun-yi in the men's 80-kg taekwondo final, Chang Chu-han in the women's kayak cross, and the League of Legends team in the esports event.
Among the bronze medals, taekwondo athlete Wang Wei-chia faced a tough contest against Iranian Saghar Moradi, losing with scores of 3-14 and 5-7. Tennis players Hsieh Su-wei and Tseng Chun-hsin were defeated by the Japanese pair Ena Shibahara and Jay Friend in the mixed doubles. The men's recurve team, consisting of Tang Chih-chun, Cheng Hsiang-hui, and Lin Zih-siang, secured the third bronze by defeating Iran 6-2 in the bronze medal match.
