Taipei: Taiwan shares ended up 598.12 points, or 1.94 percent, at 31,408.70 Friday on turnover of NT$823.36 billion (US$26.08 billion).

According to Focus Taiwan, the market showed significant activity with a substantial increase in turnover compared to previous sessions.

Investors appeared to be optimistic, driving the index higher by nearly two percent. The uptick in market activity reflects a robust trading day, contributing to the overall positive sentiment among traders and investors in the region.
