Taipei: The Taiwan Stock Exchange’s main index opened up 162.03 points at 28,031.54 Tuesday on turnover of NT$9.80 billion (US$316 million).

According to Focus Taiwan, the early trading figures indicated a positive start for the market. The increase reflects movements and investor sentiment in the Taiwanese financial landscape as trading activities commenced for the day.
