Berlin:Taiwan debuted its first-ever national pavilion at a global transportation technology trade fair in Berlin, aiming to demonstrate resilient railway solutions and attract international partners.

According to Focus Taiwan, the Taiwan Pavilion at the InnoTrans show was organized by the Railway Bureau under the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MOTC). It brought together 14 partners from academia, research institutes, and the private sector, including Taiwan High Speed Rail Corp.

The exhibit focuses on smart transit and rail resilience, showcasing Taiwanese strengths in 5G, AIoT, smart rail system integration, and related industries. Railway Bureau Director-General Young Cheng-chung stated that the pavilion serves as a platform for the domestic rail sector to gain global visibility and foster international partnerships.

In addition to the pavilion, another 26 Taiwanese companies are exhibiting independently at the event, which continues through Friday, as reported by the MOTC.

Transportation Minister Chen Shih-kai highlighted during the opening ceremony that despite Taiwan's small size, its century-long development in various rail systems reflects its ambitions in rail transport. Chen emphasized that Taiwan will leverage its expertise in AI, virtual simulations, and information technology to enhance train design, electromechanics, system integration, and safety verification, strengthening its foundation for future growth in the rail industry.
