Taipei: Taiwan will phase out paper arrival cards from October 1, requiring all foreign travelers to submit their information online, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) announced Tuesday. Travelers will need to access the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) website and complete the form in either English or traditional Chinese, explained NIA Chief Secretary Lin Tse-chien.
According to Focus Taiwan, instructions on how to complete the form are also available in Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian. The NIA advises travelers to submit their TWAC at least three days before arriving in Taiwan. However, submissions can also be made at the airport, where free wi-fi is accessible.
For families or tour groups, Lin mentioned that one individual could fill out the form on behalf of up to 16 people. Additionally, for those without access to an internet-connected device, NIA staff at airports and seaports will be available to assist in filling out the TWAC upon arrival in Taiwan.
