Taipei, Eva Air has been ranked fifth in the World's Best Airlines 2018 survey, one place up from its rating last year, according to the poll by Skytrax, an authoritative U.K.-based consultancy for the global aviation industry.
The Taiwan-based airline came top in the World's Best Airport Services, as well as being named as one of the 5-star airlines in 2018, the results on the Skytrax website show.
The World's Best Airlines ratings are dominated by airlines from Asian countries, with the addition of Germany-based Lufthansa, according to the Skytrax poll.
Singapore Airlines, which placed second in 2017, was ranked first on the list of the World's Best Airlines in 2018. The reigning champion also received the ranking in 2004, 2007 and 2008.
Qatar's state-owned carrier, Qatar Airways, and Japan-based All Nippon Airways (ANA) were ranked second and third, respectively, followed by Emirates, Eva Air, Cathay Pacific Airways, Lufthansa, Hainan Airlines, Garuda Indonesia and Thai Airways.
The poll was conducted to gauge passenger satisfaction with the services provided by 335 airlines from August 2017 to May 2018. During the survey period, more than 20 million passengers from over 100 countries participated in the poll.
