Taipei:Taipei: Taiwan's Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung departed Sunday for Belize and Guatemala with a business delegation aimed at bolstering economic cooperation with Taiwan's key Central American allies.

According to Focus Taiwan, Lin is scheduled to meet with Belizean Prime Minister John Brice±o and Guatemalan President Bernardo Ar©valo. During his visit, he will also inspect several projects funded by Taiwan in both countries.

While in Guatemala, Lin will participate in a reception commemorating the 92nd anniversary of diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Guatemala, as well as Taiwan's National Day. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) stated that the delegation includes over 30 representatives from various sectors such as green energy, smart transportation, artificial intelligence, space technology, biotechnology, health care, tourism, and finance and trade.

The U.S.-Taiwan Business Council, which facilitates trade and business relationships between the United States and Taiwan, is also part of the delegation. However, MOFA has not disclosed the date of Lin's return to Taiwan.

Since assuming his role in May 2024, Lin has been visiting Taiwan's diplomatic partners globally with business delegations to enhance strategic and economic partnerships, as well as to reinforce diplomatic ties under the Diplomatic Allies Prosperity Project.
