Taiwan’s Military Rehearses National Day Flyover with Jets and Helicopters

Taipei:Taiwan's military conducted a full-scale rehearsal for the National Day flyover over Taipei, featuring a display by five Brave Eagle advanced jet trainers emitting red, blue, and white smoke over the Presidential Office.According to Focus Taiwan, the Ministry of National Defense had previously held a half-scale rehearsal on September 30, with the full rehearsal taking place this morning and a final one set for October 5.The rehearsal began around 6 a.m. with an Air Force Mirage 2000 fighter performing an aerial observation mission over the capital, followed by a UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter. At 705 a.m., a CH-47SD Chinook carrying a giant national flag flew from north to south over the Presidential Office, accompanied by two UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.A formation of 12 helicopters, including Apache and Cobra attack helicopters, S-70C anti-submarine choppers, and Black Hawks, followed the same route. They were joined shortly by a P-3C anti-submarine aircraft and two C-130H transport aircraft, a long with three formations of five Mirage 2000s, Indigenous Defense Fighters, and F-16Vs.The rehearsal concluded at 740 a.m. as the Air Force's Thunder Tiger aerobatic team flew five Brave Eagle advanced jet trainers from west to east over the Presidential Office, trailing smoke in the national colors.
