Taiwan’s Special Municipalities Announce Adjusted Garbage Collection Schedules for Lunar New Year


Taipei: Residents of Taiwan’s major cities should prepare for changes in garbage and recycling collection schedules during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday, spanning from January 25 to February 2.



According to Focus Taiwan, the governments of Taiwan’s six special municipalities have released specific details regarding the adjustments.



In Taipei, regular garbage collection will occur on January 27 and 28, with no service provided from January 29 to 31. An extra service is scheduled for February 1, and regular collection services will resume on February 3.



New Taipei will maintain its regular service on January 27, with an adjusted service time on January 28, when collection will start in the morning and end at 6 p.m. There will be no service from January 29 to 31, but residents can drop off garbage at 70 designated locations during these dates. Regular service will resume on February 1.



In Taoyuan, regular collection will take place on January 27, with adjusted service times on January 28, starting at 9 a.m. with no evening collection. No services will be available from January 29 to 31, though an extra service is scheduled for February 1, also beginning at 9 a.m. without evening collection. Regular service will resume on February 3. It is important to note that Fuxing Township will operate on a different collection schedule.
