This year, a series of forums and speeches highlighting the laureates' achievements will be held during Tang Prize Week from September 19-28. As part of the Tang Prize Week, the laureates are expected to give a series of lectures at universities across the country Sept. 25-28.
The events will also include a concert at the National Concert Hall and exhibitions featuring the lives and works of the Tang Prize laureates, according to the foundation.
The awardees were announced in June, with James Edward Hansen and Veerabhadran Ramanathan winning the prize for Sustainable Development; Tony Hunter, Brian Druker and John Mendelsohn taking the honors for Biopharmaceutical Science; Yoshinobu Shiba and Stephen Owen for Sinology; and Joseph Raz for the Rule of Law.
The award ceremony on Sept. 21 will be followed later in the day by banquet at Grand Hotel in Taipei.
