Taipei: The owner of a Taipei-based technology company, Yun Yun AI Baby Camera Co., Ltd., was indicted on Monday for fatally stabbing one of his employees, in front of multiple witnesses. Tseng Chih-hsin, who is in his 50s, was charged for murdering the firm's chief technology officer, surnamed Liang on March 7, according to the Taipei District Prosecutors Office.
According to Focus Taiwan, the murder occurred during a meeting in which Tseng and the company's human resources chief, surnamed Lu, discussed Liang's resignation with him. During this meeting, Tseng stabbed Liang repeatedly in the neck and then attempted to take his own life. However, his suicide attempt was thwarted by Lu and two other staff members present.
Liang was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead due to excessive blood loss. Following the incident, Tseng has been held in incommunicado detention since March 18 to prevent any attempts at collusion or evidence tampering.
The case is set to be heard by the Taipei District Court and will involve citizen judges in the ruling process. The legal proceedings are being closely monitored as the community awaits justice in this tragic case.
