Taipei-Daytime temperatures throughout Taiwan will rebound Wednesday before falling to 10-12 degrees Celsius later in the evening, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
Daytime highs are expected to rise to 17-18 degrees around noon in northern Taiwan and 20-23 degrees in central and southern areas, CWB forecaster Chu Mei-lin (???) said.
However, the current cold air mass affecting Taiwan will be at its strongest from Wednesday night to Friday morning, when the mercury could drop to 12 degrees in Taipei, 11-12 degrees in central and southern Taiwan and 10 degrees in flat open areas, Chu said.
This strong cold air mass will continue to impact Taiwan until Friday morning, but a new wave of northeasterly winds is forecast to reach Taiwan Saturday, which could see temperatures in northern and northeastern Taiwan reach 14-15 degrees, she said.
