He used to work for the Fiscal Policy Office, Ministry of Finance. He has many outstanding achievements, such as the restructuring of public debt, the regulation of personal loan interest rates to be at 28 percent per year, the regulation of the credit card business, and the merger of the Industrial Finance Corporation, TMB Bank, and DBS Thai Thanu Bank. He also drafted laws as a member of the Special Committee to consider many laws and is a former MP for Bangkok for 2 terms.Mr. Phiraphan Salirathavipak said that Mr. Atthawich came to help with the energy structure reform at the ministry, reducing the steps for requesting permission for solar energy, allowing people to access it at a low price. Therefore, he invited him to be a party member to work on developing and proposing party laws related to people's livelihoods, which will strengthen the party's legislative work.
