Thonburi Naval Shipyard, The Royal Thai Navy led rowers of the Royal Barge Procession to practice with four real royal barges for the first time.Reporters reported that last evening at the Thonburi Naval Dockyard, the Naval Dockyard Department organized a training session for the rowers of the Royal Barge Procession of 4 ships, namely the Suphannahong Royal Barge, the Narai Song Suban Royal Barge of King Rama IX, the Anantanakarat Royal Barge, and the Anekchatphuchong Royal Barge. The highlight today (8 July) was the rowers training on real royal barges for the first time.Those who wish to watch the royal barge rowing practice can watch during 8-12 July 2024, 15-19 July 2024, and 23-26 July 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.The rowing personnel training in formation will start with 10 small rehearsals in the Chao Phraya River as follows:1st time on 1 August 20242nd time on August 8, 20243rd time on August 15, 20244th time on August 22, 20245th time, 3 September 20246th time, 12 September 20247th time, 19 September 20248th time, 26 September 20249th time, October 3, 202410th time, October 10, 2024It can be viewed along both sides of the Chao Phraya River, from Rama VIII Bridge - Wat Arun Ratchawararam, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.Then there will be two full-scale rehearsals on October 15, 2024 and October 22, 2024, and a final rehearsal on October 24, 2024, with the royal ceremony scheduled for October 27, 2024.The training of rowers from all areas, totaling 2,200 personnel, will be trained on boats in the river during 8-30 July 2024 (15 days after). The 2 main areas are Rama VIII Bridge and Thonburi Naval Dockyard. The Royal Thai Navy will open for the public and interested persons to watch the training of rowers and the royal barges during 8-30 July 2024 (only on official days).The Marine Department will close water traffic during the period of ship movement and during the training.
