Taipei, Tigerair Taiwan announced Friday that people who want to purchase its air tickets online for no more than NT$20,000 (US$681) can do so at convenience stores in cash, the first of its kind for international carriers in Taiwan.
According to the company, a budget carrier subsidiary of Taiwan's China Airlines, ticket buyers will get a code once they confirm a booking online.
They then need to insert the code within three hours at kiosks in FamilyMart, Hi-Life or OK Mart convenience stores.
It is the first time for international travelers to be able to make payments at convenience stores, a service that was previously only available for domestic flights.
