Tigerair Taiwan announced Monday it will launch a new route between Taoyuan and Da Nang in central Vietnam starting Dec. 24 as part of the company’s efforts to boost its presence in the Southeast Asian region.
The launch of the Taoyuan-Da Nang route marks the carrier’s first foray into the fast-growing Vietnam market, Tigerair Taiwan said in a statement.
In the initial stage, Tigerair Taiwan will fly a round-way trip between the two destinations every Wednesday and Saturday, the statement said.
In conjunction, bookings for a special offer untaxed ticket costing NT$1,299 (US$41.6) for a single trip on the route will kick off at 10 a.m. Tuesday until 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, for departures between Dec. 24 and March 25, 2023, it said.
Meanwhile, an untaxed NT$1,599 ticket for a one-way trip between Taoyuan and Don Mueang International Airport (Bangkok), and untaxed NT$1,099 for one-way tickets to Palawan and Boracay are also being offered, the statement said.
Tigerair Taiwan, a joint venture between Taipei-based China Airlines and Budget Aviation Holdings, is the sole low-cost carrier headquartered in Taiwan.
It operates a fleet of 15 aircraft, including four A320neos, mainly serving flights to Japan, South Korean, Macau, the Philippines and Thailand.
