Taipei--Hollywood movie star Tom Cruise will visit Taiwan for the fourth time next month to promote The Mummy, an upcoming American film directed by Alex Kurtzman in which Cruise plays the lead role, Universal Picture Co., the organizer of the trip, said on Monday.
The Mummy, which stars Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson, is scheduled to hit theaters in Taiwan on June 9.
On May 25, Cruise, Kurtzman, Wallis and Boutella will attend the premiere of The Mummy in Taiwan, the company said.
According to the company, Cruise told fans when wrapping up his last visit to Taiwan in 2013 that he would return to the island to promote one of his future movies. And he promised his fans at the time that it would not take long.
Earlier this year, Cruise took the initiative and told the film company's U.S. headquarters he would like to visit Taiwan again.
The upcoming trip will make Cruise Taiwan's most frequent Hollywood star visitor. His previous visits were in 2000, 2001 and 2013, according to the company.
