Taipei-The Taxation Administration said Thursday that digital receipt holders will be able to claim for NT$500 e-receipts in the upcoming September-October uniform invoice lottery draw through its official mobile app designed for digital prize redemption.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) announced in October that the government would promote its electronic invoice service, which already redeems prizes under NT$1,000, by funding an additional NT$200 million (US$6.54 million) in prizes of NT$500, which also will be available to digital receipt users in the September-October lottery.
According to the administration, winners will be able to redeem their awards using the mobile app dubbed "uniform lottery redemption service," which was launched by the finance ministry in January this year and is downloadable to both Android and Apple platforms.
The app, which can store and check receipts, allows winners to claim their prizes through electronic transactions, with prize money remitted directly into their bank accounts.
The system is currently limited to winnings of NT$1,000 and NT$200, a tax official said Thursday.
The winning numbers for the September-October uniform invoice lottery, including the special NT$500 prize draw, will be released on Nov. 25.
