Taipei, April 6 (CAN) A weather front that is approaching Taiwan will bring rain and push down temperatures around the country Friday, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB).
The CWB said the northeastern part of Taiwan is expected to feel the effect of the approaching weather system by around noon, and the unstable weather conditions could reach central and southern Taiwan later in the day.
CWB forecaster Lin Ding-yi (???) said some areas in northern and central Taiwan will experience thunderstorms Friday afternoon.
According to the CWB, the weather system will cause temperatures to fall as low as 14 degrees Celsius in northern Taiwan, 16 degrees in central Taiwan, and 18 degrees in the south on Friday, down 4-5 degrees from Thursday.
Fog has also been forecast for western Taiwan and the Kinmen and Matsu islands, and the CWB urged people to beware of low visibility in low-lying areas and at sea.
Lin said the strength of the weather front is expected to intensify on Saturday night into early Sunday morning and push the mercury even lower to 13 degrees in northern and central Taiwan and 16 degrees in the south.
But a reduction in moisture will lead to drier conditions starting Saturday, the CWB said.
Lin said the weather system will leave Taiwan on Sunday, and highs will rebound to 24 degrees in the north and 27 degrees in central and southern Taiwan.
