Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum launched in Taiwan
Taipei--Chinese electronics firm Xiaomi officially launched its Mi robot vacuum cleaner in Taiwan on Monday, priced at NT$8,895 (US$294.6).
Henman Lee (???), head of Xiaomi Taiwan, said at the launch ceremony that the company has set a target of making it the best-selling product of its kind in the Taiwan market by selling more than 10,000 units and generating over NT$100 million in turnover in the first month.
Lee said that to meet Taiwan's consumers' demand for quality, the vacuum cleaners and accessories have had to be revised to meet Taiwan's certification requirements, which are stricter than those of China, which is Xiaomi's major market.
The company will also provide after-sales services that include home pick-up and delivery for faulty products, Lee added.
The device is available online and through third-party platforms such as PChome, Lee went on, adding that Xiaomi also plans to set up two bricks and mortar stores later this year for sale of the product.
Xiaomi Taiwan posted sales exceeding NT$2 million last year, according to Lee.
