Army Sergeant Dies After Injury During Tainan Training Site Preparation

Taipei: An Army sergeant surnamed Tsai has died following injuries sustained during a training site preparation mission in Tainan, as announced by the 8th Army Command. The incident, which occurred under circumstances still being investigated, led to Tsai's immediate hospital admission where he was later pronounced dead.

According to Focus Taiwan, Tsai was part of the 203rd Infantry Brigade and suffered injuries while preparing a training site for a reservist call-up. The site was located outside the base where Tsai was stationed. The 8th Army Command expressed deep regret over the incident and noted that senior officers have been tasked with managing the situation.

The military has pledged full cooperation with the investigation, which will be conducted by prosecutors and police. Additionally, the Command has committed to assisting Tsai's family with funeral arrangements and compensation.
