Taipei:Taiwan's Central News Agency (CNA) announced it will relaunch its Spanish-language Focus Taiwan news service on Thursday, utilizing artificial intelligence to assist in the production and editing of stories.

According to Focus Taiwan, the decision to revive the Spanish-language news site, named Enfoque en Taiw¡n (CNA en Espa±ol), was influenced by recent advancements in AI that can enhance content creation and proofreading.

The original Spanish-language site had suspended operations on April 1, 2021. CNA President Anne Hu highlighted the agency's extensive experience in Chinese-language reporting and noted its operation of Taiwan's leading English- and Japanese-language news sites, as well as an Indonesian news service for immigrants and migrant workers in Taiwan.

The relaunch of the Spanish site will mark CNA's fourth foreign-language news service.
