Cooler Weather and Rain Expected in Northern Taiwan Next Week

Taipei:Cooler temperatures and rain are forecast for northern and eastern Taiwan starting Monday, as seasonal northeasterly winds move into the area. Daytime highs are expected to drop to around 27-28 degrees Celsius, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).

According to Focus Taiwan, showers are predicted for regions north of Taoyuan, as well as in Yilan and Hualien on Friday, with the possibility of heavier rain in northeastern Taiwan. This rainy weather is expected to persist into the following week.

Next week, the areas north of Taoyuan, Yilan, Hualien, and the Hengchun Peninsula are likely to experience showers, with locally heavy rain possible in northeastern Taiwan. Northern Taiwan can expect lows of 23-25 degrees Celsius, while the rest of the country will see lows of 25-27 degrees.

In other weather developments, Tropical Depression 30 has formed east of Guam and may strengthen into Tropical Storm Choi-wan as early as Thursday. The system is projected to move west before veering north, with no anticipated impact on Taiwan.
