Inaugural Taiwan Weeks Attracts 28,000 Participants from 20 Nations

Taipei: The first-ever Taiwan Weeks concluded with close to 28,000 participants from over 20 countries, highlighting Taiwan's expanding influence in the global capital market, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) announced on Tuesday.

According to Focus Taiwan, this event, held from October 15 to 23, attracted more than 1,200 institutional representatives and over 250 foreign participants from nations such as the United States, Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Australia. At the event's opening ceremony, FSC Chairman Peng Jin-long emphasized Taiwan's robust industrial base and dynamic capital markets as crucial global competitive strengths, reaffirming the FSC's commitment to establishing Taiwan as an "Asian asset management hub."

Taiwan Weeks included forums and exhibitions centered on the future of Taiwan's capital markets. The events drew participation from global stock exchanges, asset managers, multinational financial groups, and more than 150 listed companies alongside 100 financial institutions.

The FSC stated that the event focused on financial product innovation, enhancements in ESG and corporate governance, and the introduction of the "Asia Innovation Capital Platform," which aims to simplify listing rules and strengthen equity and bond fundraising avenues. The FSC also noted that Taiwan Weeks 2025 garnered substantial domestic and international support, committing to furthering innovation, cross-border collaboration, and talent development.
