Iran Conflict to Cause Significant Delays in Taiwan’s International Mail to 17 Nations

Taipei: International mail sent from Taiwan to 17 countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Iran, and Israel, will face “severe” delays after air transport operations in the region were suspended for several days, Chunghwa Post announced on Monday. The disruptions are due to the conflict initiated by airstrikes from the United States and Israel against Iran, which led several Middle Eastern nations to announce airspace closures or impose flight restrictions.

According to Focus Taiwan, mail destined for Israel, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and other countries such as Bahrain, Pakistan, Maldives, Russia, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan, Oman, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Greece, Egypt, and Morocco will experience delays. Chunghwa Post has stated that it is in constant communication with partner airlines and is closely monitoring the latest developments regarding the resumption of flights and mail transport.

Chunghwa Post is advising senders to carefully consider delivery timeframes before dispatching items and has committed to providing updates on its Global Information Network Website.
