Kaohsiung:A pavilion by the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) opened Tuesday at the 2026 Taiwan Technology × Culture Expo (TTXC) in Kaohsiung, featuring cultural technologies such as generative AI-powered audiovisual art, photorealistic 3D modeling, and smart spaces.
According to Focus Taiwan, the exhibits, developed with the Institute for Information Industry, show how advanced technologies can enhance artistic creation, cultural preservation, content presentation, and spatial design.
ITRI, headquartered in Hsinchu County, is a leading research institute in Taiwan focused on applied technology. Chen Hui-chuan, head of ITRI's Service Systems Technology Center, highlighted that cultural technology involves more than just new tech in art; it uses digital tools to reinterpret cultural content, creating new experiences and business models.
The pavilion remains open to the public through Friday. The TTXC, running from October 9-26 at Kaohsiung's Pier-2 Art Center, is themed "All In AI -- AI Dimension the Symbiotic Era." The event includes six major exhibitions, 25 international forums, and over 100 industry events, such as business matchmaking and networking activities.
Simultaneously, the Kaohsiung Film Festival will host XR Dreamland at Pier-2 Art Center from October 9-26, touted as Asia's largest immersive film festival.
