Aichi-Nagoya:Lin Chung-wei secured a bronze medal in the men's 400-meter hurdles at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, marking one of four bronze medals Taiwan earned on Monday.

According to Focus Taiwan, Lin's performance followed Fu Chao-hsuan's gold in the men's high jump on Sunday, giving Taiwan a track and field medal for the second consecutive day. Lin entered the final with the second-fastest time in the heats, clocking 49.10 seconds. He maintained a strong position among the leaders, finishing third with a personal-best time of 48.74 seconds.

Qatar's Bassem Hemeida claimed the gold medal with a time of 47.82 seconds, while Japan's Taiju Goto took silver, achieving a personal-best 47.93 seconds. Taiwan's Chen Jian-rong finished fourth, also setting a personal best of 49.25 seconds. Lin had previously set his best time of 48.77 seconds at a meet in Japan in May.

Taiwan's other bronze medals came from different categories. In badminton mixed doubles, Ye Hong-wei and Nicole Gonzales Chan lost their semifinal match to China's Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin, with scores of 21-13, 21-9, earning Taiwan its first Asian Games mixed doubles badminton medal since 2010.

In table tennis, Lin Yun-ju claimed the men's singles bronze after a close semifinal match against China's Lin Shidong, which extended to seven games with scores of 10-12, 9-11, 11-8, 11-9, 9-11, 11-6, 11-9.

In shooting, the women's 25-meter pistol team, consisting of Cheng Yen-ching, Tien Chia-chen, and Chen Yu-ju, scored a combined 1,734 points to secure third place behind China and South Korea.

As of Monday night, Taiwan had accumulated a total of three golds, seven silvers, and 23 bronze medals.
