Taipei: The Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) on Monday launched a dedicated account to receive private donations for Typhoon Danas disaster relief.
According to Focus Taiwan, people can donate via multiple channels to support the relief efforts. For domestic donations, individuals can transfer money to a specific bank account: Bank name (code: 005), Account number: 102-005-19896-5. For overseas contributions, donors can utilize the Land Bank of Taiwan Changchuen Branch, using the SWIFT Code: LBOTTWTP102. The account details remain the same for the Taiwan Foundation for Disaster Relief.
In addition to traditional banking methods, donations can also be made through LinePay by selecting the "2025 Typhoon Danas Fundraising Program" under the "Donation" button. Furthermore, major convenience store chains such as 7-Eleven, FamilyMart, Hi-Life, and OKmart offer options to donate via their respective machines by choosing the fundraising program, entering details, and making payments at the counter.
The MOHW stated that this account will be available until August 20. The collected funds are intended to support various relief initiatives, including disaster relief, emergency medical aid, shelter and resettlement, and post-disaster recovery efforts.
Typhoon Danas, which made landfall in Chiayi County's Budai Township on July 6, significantly affected central and southern Taiwan. The storm led to power outages, water supply disruptions, property damage, and flooding, underscoring the urgent need for relief and recovery efforts.
