Taipei: Sun An-tso, the son of television celebrities Sun Peng and Di Ying, was brought in for questioning by police on Saturday after posting a video on social media showing a homemade flamethrower being tested on a riverbank.According to Focus Taiwan, the Beitou police precinct reported that Sun and another suspect were questioned early Saturday morning under the direction of the Shilin District Prosecutors Office. The video, which Sun posted online, showed the flamethrower producing large flames, raising public safety concerns due to its proximity to a public road and residential buildings.The police precinct stated that the area in Beitou District where the testing occurred was surrounded by low trees and bushes, indicating that an accidental fire could have had severe consequences. The two individuals will be referred to prosecutors on suspicion of public endangerment and related offenses. While police did not disclose any statements made by Sun, they urged the public to refrain from imitating such b ehavior, warning against making weapons capable of causing harm.Sun, who is in his late 20s, has been a controversial figure, notably during his time studying in the United States. In March 2018, he was arrested and charged with making terroristic threats after threatening a mass shooting at Bonner and Prendergast Catholic High School in Delaware, Pennsylvania. Sun pleaded guilty and was sentenced to up to 23 months in jail, with immediate parole and credit for time served.Following his release, Sun was taken into custody by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement and later charged with the federal offense of being an alien in possession of ammunition. He pleaded guilty to the federal charge on August 28, and the U.S. court ordered Sun's removal from the country, permanently barring him from re-entering the United States.
