Taipei: Much of Taiwan can expect sporadic rain showers on Sunday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).According to Focus Taiwan, the CWA indicated that scattered light rain might fall in northern, southern, eastern, western, and central areas of Taiwan's main island, with intermittent sunshine in some locations. Morning temperatures in the north are expected to be cooler, with lows around 16-17 degrees Celsius, while in the south, lows will range between 19-21 degrees.In the afternoon, northern and eastern areas will experience highs ranging from 21-25 degrees, whereas central and southern regions will see highs of 26-28 degrees. Taiwan's island counties will have varied weather conditions, with Penghu expected to be mostly sunny with some clouds, Kinmen cloudier with occasional sunshine, and the Matsu islands (Lienchiang County) mostly sunny.The forecast also includes strong winds averaging six on the Beaufort scale for Sunday afternoon and evening in some areas, such as coastal regi ons of Taichung City, Changhua County, and Penghu County, as well as Taitung County's outlying Green Island and Orchid Island.Independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong from the Meteorological Application and Development Foundation mentioned that temperatures are expected to increase slightly over the next few days. However, light rain may still fall in mountainous areas of the country. He also noted that unstable weather would return with a slight temperature drop by Wednesday or Thursday, but conditions are expected to improve again on Friday.
