Taipei Medical University Hospital Enhances Healthcare in Eswatini

Taipei:Taipei Medical University Hospital (TMUH) announced its ongoing contribution to healthcare development in Eswatini since 2009, following King Mswati III's recent visit to the hospital on October 12.

According to Focus Taiwan, King Mswati III arrived in Taiwan last week to participate in the National Day celebrations of the Republic of China. During his visit to TMUH, he was welcomed by hospital superintendent Shih Chun-ming.

The collaboration between TMUH and Eswatini has evolved over the past 17 years from basic clinical care to comprehensive medical personnel training and healthcare system advancements. This partnership has markedly improved Eswatini's medical infrastructure. Superintendent Shih highlighted that TMUH has facilitated over 50,000 person-visits for teaching and training services in the country, significantly enhancing its healthcare capacity through sustained on-site services and expert knowledge sharing.

Vice Superintendent Wang Wei noted that the hospital's TAIP-X smart healthcare platform, implemented at Manzini Government Hospital, has transitioned its operations from paper-based to digital, thereby improving outpatient service efficiency. TMUH has also established telemedicine services across various specialties, enabling Taiwanese specialists to collaborate with local physicians for real-time remote consultations. This initiative has bolstered specialist care and clinical skills in pediatrics, hematology and oncology, endocrinology, rheumatology and immunology, nephrology, and dermatology in Eswatini.

Looking forward, Shih expressed the hospital's commitment to further expanding its medical cooperation with Eswatini. TMUH aims to leverage its clinical expertise and smart healthcare technologies, along with professional exchanges and personnel training, to enhance local healthcare capabilities and elevate Taiwan's international medical standing.
