Taipei:Taiwan's stock market saw a positive opening as the main index of the Taiwan Stock Exchange rose by 54.98 points, reaching 46,942.75 on Thursday.

According to Focus Taiwan, the turnover for the market at the opening amounted to NT$8.48 billion, equivalent to approximately US$261.55 million.
