Nagoya:According to Focus Taiwan, Taiwanese soft tennis player Chen Po-yi faced a challenging match against Japan's Toshiki Uematsu in the men's singles semifinals at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Despite a strong effort, Chen was defeated 4-2 by the defending champion.Chen secured a bronze medal, marking his second medal at this year's Asian Games after earning a silver in the men's team event. The 23-year-old athlete expressed gratitude for winning two out of the six games in the semifinal, acknowledging Uematsu, a three-time gold medalist at the 2022 Asian Games, as a formidable opponent.Taiwan's soft tennis team concluded the games with a total of four medals: a gold in mixed doubles, two silvers in the men's and women's team events, and Chen's bronze. In comparison, the team won three silver and two bronze medals at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.By Wednesday afternoon, Taiwanese athletes had amassed a total of 10 medals at the current Asian Games.
