Taipei: The Central Weather Administration (CWA) announced that a tropical depression located off the coast of Iwo Jima in Japan has the potential to intensify into a tropical storm or even a typhoon.

According to Focus Taiwan, there is also a possibility of additional tropical depressions forming in the South China Sea in the coming days. Meanwhile, Taiwan's weather is expected to remain mostly sunny to cloudy until Wednesday, with brief, localized afternoon thundershowers anticipated in Greater Taipei, the northeast, and mountainous regions.

The Greater Taipei area, Hualien, and the central and southern parts of Taiwan may experience high temperatures reaching up to 36 degrees Celsius between Monday and Wednesday. Other regions of the country are expected to see temperatures ranging from 32-35 degrees Celsius.
